New Dawn of Information Research: Social Media Alerts. Watch out Google.
Since introducing its social radar alerts, Infegy, the developer of Social Radar, stands to become the next Google for all things social media-related. The real-time social email alerts are available as both a standalone service or as an add-on to its already growing Social Radar analytics platform for enterprise customers. Social Radar is an application that collects data from various social media platforms related to a single subject. Concerned how people perceive your restaurant? As a subscriber to Infegy, you could plug in your restaurant name and retrieve everything everyone says about you on Twitter, Facebook, Yelp and more. These new alerts provide one step up from the general Radar information in a "hands-off" approach for time-crunched entrepreneurs. Just as some opt for text or email alerts when it comes to certain news and RSS feeds, this is the next step in information retrieval. "Social Radar Alerts give executives a way to monitor and analyze their brand sentiment and increased social activity remotely from their mobile devices, " said Adam Coomes, president of Infegy. According to Joe Grigsby, director emerging media, Social Radar Alerts allows the company to "keep an eye on the conversations and articles about our brands and their competitors without having to keep an active watch on the Web. Thousands of articles and messages are happening daily and it puts us at ease to know that we'll be notified and shown what deserves our attention, wherever we are."
